From Empty Corner to Backyard Pub Shed Paradise
When Martin Peters renovated his California backyard, he left one corner open—hoping to turn it into the ultimate outdoor entertaining space. He wasn’t sure whether to build a traditional shed or a pergola, until he discovered the trend of pub sheds. Popularized in the UK, pub sheds are now making waves in American backyards, and Martin instantly knew it was the perfect fit.
A Shed That Opens to the Patio—and the Party
“We just really fell in love with the idea of a pub shed,” Martin shared. “We thought it would be nice to have it open right up onto our patio for a big outdoor room.”
With that vision in mind, Martin worked with the Tuff Shed team to create a custom 10×12 TR-800 that checked all the boxes. Double Hawthorne doors open wide onto the patio, connecting the indoor space with the outdoor seating area. Guests can hang out by the fire pit and still catch the game on the shed’s TV through the open doors.
Customized for Comfort and Entertainment
To complete the interior, Martin hired a contractor to add drywall and install a reclaimed wood accent wall for rustic charm. The shed was also wired for electricity, powering a mini-fridge, surround sound, lighting, and a mounted television.
With cozy lighting, indoor-outdoor flow, and plenty of space for entertaining, Martin’s backyard pub shed is now a favorite gathering spot for friends and neighbors.
