All of our high-quality, American-made products are manufactured and delivered out of our network of Tuff Shed factory locations. Final installation of Tuff Shed products takes place at the customer’s site, by a team of trained and background-checked Authorized Installers.

Product Design and Durability  

It all begins with our industry-leading, American-made, products. The fundamental separator in our industry is that we create durable, long-lasting products. We carefully engineer cut sheets that maximize the use of our materials preventing waste, while yielding a superior quality building. We’ve all seen the photos of competitors’ inferior sheds blown away by wind, crushed by snow, weathered to the point of rot, or simply worn out from normal use. Those disposable structures ultimately end up in a landfill far too soon.   

Our Processes  

Every factory is focused on drop management, so when we cut items like lumber or siding down to size, we use that leftover material (called ‘drop’) for things like shelf brackets, headers, window framing, etc.  The way we paint, for example, while some might consider “old school” is much better for the environment. By rolling instead of spraying, we introduce fewer airborne paint particles and eliminate the need for continually washing out tools with water. At the macro level, our building process of pre-fabrication, kitting and on-site installation limits over-the-road trips to the jobsite.    

Sourcing the Right Materials 

Sustainability impacts our decisions around which suppliers and materials we choose to work with. Louisiana Pacific (LP), which supplies our sheet goods like siding and trim, is an industry leader in sustainability. Their approach to sourcing fasting-growing Aspen trees, maximizing the use of the tree, and developing an environmentally friendly anti-rot treatment (SmartGuard) is a case study in sustainability.   

Likewise, our paint supplier Glidden is dedicated to the development of low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paints, is the first U.S. paint manufacturer to establish greenhouse gas emissions targets and will invest $30 Million in environmental sustainability education by 2030. GAF, our supplier of roofing materials aims to achieve high material waste-diversion, through recycling and take back programs. GAF manufacturing facilities are also committed to reducing carbon emissions and are producing more products in their “green portfolio”.    

Even our switch to galvanized steel floor joists came about from our founder’s dedication to protecting his team members from dangerous carcinogens found in treated lumber before the turn of the century. This decades ago, decision happened before most manufacturers were considering an environmentally conscious approach to buying materials.
