Robin’s Fashion Barn

October 26, 2020 | building of the month

Robin's fashion and storage TB-600

Robin was on a mission to turn her upstate New York cabin into the perfect escape; the only thing missing was a home office. Working in the fashion industry meant that she needed room for both an office and storage for her clothing samples. After finding some Tuff Shed inspiration, she designed a barn that gives her all the space she needs without sacrificing style.

Robin was inspired by another Tuff Shed barn, Michelle Adam’s stylish garden barn that was featured as our building of the month in January of 2018 here and in Gardenista Magazine as well. Not only did she fall in love with the barn style shed, but she could also imagine all the ways the space could be transformed on her property. “Customizing it was the best part,” says Robin. “I was able to design it online and add all the windows, a window box, and a skylight to create a really bright space.”

Cozy TB600 with a desk, chair, clothes rack, colorful rug, and a cat in a bed. Warm lighting and nature-themed decor create a welcoming atmosphere.
Bright, minimalist workspace with a wooden desk, chair, plants, and art supplies. Large window offers a view of lush greenery outside.

Her new 8x10 TB-600 is a perfect fit. With plenty of room to store samples of her clothing line, all the tools of her trade along the pegboard, and of course, a desk, Robin’s barn office is exactly what she was looking for. Even better, when she’s not hard at work, she’s able to use her new office space as a yoga studio as well. “I was really in need of a workspace but this barn does all that and more. I was able to customize it inside and out to create an office I love to work in,” says Robin of her barn.

You can follow along with all of the updates Robin makes to her barn office and her bungalow getaway on her Instagram page at @silverlake_bungalow_rbk. And if you’re feeling inspired to create a barn office of your own, you can design one here, starting with an 8x10 TB-600 and adding the following:
