4 Steps for Spring Prep

Refresh your backyard shed for spring with our 4-step guide.

4 steps for spring prep? It’s as easy as that. With the new season officially here, it’s time to shake off the winter chill in your backyard shed. A quick reorganization and spring cleaning can help you get a jump start on a busy outdoor living season. We’ve got 4 simple steps to get you on the way to a more organized backyard season.

Clear the Area

This is the perfect time to clean your shed from top to bottom. Get started by clearing out your shed moving large items out of the space entirely. When it’s as empty as possible, give it a good sweep and scrub, and inspect the interior to ensure no areas require special attention.

Sort It Out

While your shed is open and empty, you have an opportunity to reorganize. Sort your items into sections that make sense for your space, like seasonal items and decor, landscaping tools, and sports equipment. And remember, if you haven’t used an item in the last few years, it may be time to donate it or throw it out.

Re-Organize & Re-Pack

After all that hard work of sorting, it’s time to put all your items back into your clean shed. Be sure to consider the items and how you’ll be using them in the upcoming season. For instance, you may want to move your seasonal décor and winter items toward the back of the shed. Our Mason Jar Organizer is a quick solution that can pack a big storage punch if you need a little extra storage space.

Add A Little Something Extra

With your shed looking so neat and tidy on the inside, why not add a little something to the exterior as well? You can brighten up the exterior with a creative DIY Door Mat or even put together an outdoor entertaining space.

And just like that, you and your shed are ready for the spring season. If you’ve got any stellar spring prep tips that we missed, shout them out in the comments below.
