This 12 X 16 Sundance TB-800 looks great!
Adam designed a custom 12×16 backyard workshop to replace his garage workspace. See how he used Tuff Shed’s online configurator to create the perfect solution.
Building a Better Backyard Workshop
When Adam Barber moved into his new home, he wanted a fresh start—and a clean garage. After realizing just how much he had accumulated in his old garage workshop, Adam made a clear decision: his new garage would be reserved for cars only. That meant finding a new space for his tools, car parts, and weekend projects.
Designing the Perfect Garage Alternative
“I like to tinker with my cars and needed a place to store all the extra parts while keeping the garage clean,” says Adam. With that goal in mind, he started designing his dream workshop using the Tuff Shed online configurator. Over the six months leading up to his move, Adam tweaked his design—adding features, adjusting colors, and fine-tuning the layout to fit his needs and his new backyard.
“I would go online and add another option or try a different color,” he says. “Once I settled on the budget, I called the local team and got started.”

A Custom Workshop That Checks Every Box
Adam chose a 12×16 Sundance Series TB-800, a spacious backyard building that doubles as a workshop and storage space. Two standout features make the building both functional and inviting:
Interior Loft – Ideal for stashing seasonal gear or less-used tools
Covered Porch – A relaxing spot to take a break—and a favorite hangout for Adam’s dogs
“It’s great to just sit and relax,” Adam shares. “The dogs enjoy it as well.”

A Smooth Process, a Long-Term Solution
From design to installation, Adam was impressed by how easy the process was. “The installers took their time, double-checked all the measurements, and made sure everything was perfect,” he says. “The building is great, and I’m looking forward to many years of use.”
With a custom backyard workshop tailored to his style and needs, Adam turned a crowded garage into a calm, creative workspace—and kept his new garage clutter-free.
